The menu at Food Social is focused firmly on a philosophy of using the best and freshest local produce available. Head Chef Andrew Wilkinson – previous North-East Chef of the Year says: “The new ethos is very simple – good honest food which has been locally sourced and beautifully presented. The restaurant retains all the elements which made Black Door so popular only we have added a new take on the Tapas style of cuisine and made it our own. The menu is changing almost every day so we can design our menus around what is available and fresh. The a la carte menu is well balanced yet unpretentious with locally reared meat and daily catches from North Shields Fish Quay at the backbone of our ever developing menus”.
So from light bites and meals to share to the a la carte menu and daily offers, there is something to tempt everyone’s taste buds whether a student on a budget, a city worker looking for a quiet early evening snack, a family with fussy little eaters, vegetarians or a special occasion diner.
